@karl_laird He says “held” then “release” in the video of Barnett. Release should mean, he should release him. Not hold on for 2.5 seconds to slow down the ruck. Are you intentionally not listening to it?

@toddvs35 You mean on a held call, not a tackle? You know they're not the same thing right? Also, you know that after giving away 7 _penalties_ for mainly illegal contact infringements in _14_ minutes any team is going to find ruck infringements going against them?

@karl_laird I have the video paused just as Klein says “Get up”. So 5.39sec to about 7.92sec when he is off the ball carrier. About 2.53sec. Give our take a few miliseconds

@whits106 And in this one, Barnett was told to let go, which he doesn’t. Yet gets away with slowing the play the ball down. It’s a lottery. And very annoying to watch as a fan who watches 5-6 games a week

@whits106 I think the worst part of the six again is how subjective it is. Because I don’t think this is a six again. Looks like Carrigan is up, and to the side. Yet the Warriors player moved over, tangled himself in the play ball. And wrapped his arm onto Carrigan.

This is probably going to be an unpopular take… But… seeing a top prospect getting called up in these videos doesn’t really hit. It is meant to happen. He is supposed to get there. It’s his destiny. Let me see the video of the 10 year journeyman get called up. That hits

@redlin000 I’m not saying he should be suspended at all, I’m saying a few weeks ago, Carrigan got suspended for what was called reckless head to head contact, but today, this was cleared as no foul play and called as body to body contact, yet Walsh got sent for HIA

So, they cleared the contact on Walsh. I’m pretty sure Carrigan got suspended two weeks for accidental head to head contact not too long ago

@whits106 @John_Michaels1 @4ypnoo So the alternative is roll off to the side with no use of your arms, or somehow have enough core strength to get up without using your arms, or put your arms over him onto the ground to propel yourself up. There’s so many instances during the game of players doing this.

@_brettshaw8 If you want to call it a professional foul, fine… but… What about the no call here? These seems like more a professional foul. Clean break, and holds onto him. It’s just the inconsistency that is upsetting to all rugby league fans.

@toddvs35 After another listen of the footage on kayo, the warning was for “disciplinary issues” in regards to the ruck infringements and overall penalties. The Carrigan sin bin is classed as a professional foul which is warranted

@whits106 @John_Michaels1 @4ypnoo But time is one of the factors for a ruck infringement, which feels like that’s what Barnett did in the first one. He just stands there with his arm held onto the attacker

I just don’t see any attempt to further slow the play the ball down This video shows when they’re told to get up,to the last guy getting up

@_brettshaw8 According to the stats, Broncos had three ruck infringements. That wasn’t the third one. So I’m not too sure they were warned for holding down in the ruck.

@toddvs35 No the warning was for repeat six agains for holding down in the ruck which Carrigan is famous for. But using your example, think of the broncos losing all their points due to speeding at the point of the warning, any infringement is going to send you to jail after that.
