This is acting dense on purpose. You can tell that, while in Liyue, they take inspiration from China and twist elements to fit modern standards, in other nations, especially Sumeru, they straight up just want it to fit their orientalist vision of swanasa

while I definitely think genshin has colorism issues I also think the player base needs to stop expecting the game to give them a 1:1 representation of XYZ cultures because the game has never tried to be factual to real life and has always just taken inspiration to make fantasy

@obewrites also I'd like to point out that even though she did parent aang to a degree, aang was also the only one to treat her as a kid and not a mother. that's..the foundation of their relationship. one of his first words to her "you're still a kid!"
