Adding onto this, there is an obvious discourse regarding the underrepresentation of non-men creators in the SMP scene, and we can also put MoneySMP under that bracket. Many people were praising me for giving opportunities; I want you to understand how we go about these opportunities. As an event organizer of something as competitive as MSMP, this event takes competition to the absolute max. I’ve realized that the issue that’s so prevalent in the scene right now is not the fact that we don’t have enough talented female creators, but the fact that they are so rarely highlighted. I think something every non-male creator would hate to hear is, “Oh, we invited you because you’re a non-male creator.” It’s not about meeting a diversity quota; as an event organizer, it’s simple, our mission is to find the best talent we can, nurture and grow that talent. There are thousands of talented, non-male creators out there, but we have to open the pathways. For me, a really good example of someone who I believe is truly talented and got into the MoneySMP group cause of that talent is @melizsayay . While this sounds great, it also sounds a bit performative since, without action, there is no purpose to this statement. This is how MoneySMP plans to take action to stand behind our word. -Firstly, I’ll be making a document that lists all the non-male creators on the MoneySMP radar, with their tier, content, and a small description of our current analysis of them. I’ll be making this doc PUBLIC so all event organizers in the PvP / smp scene can use it. -Second, we will continue and amplify our conversations with minorities in our inner community. MoneySMP’s diversity is our greatest strength, with creators of varying gender identities, countries of origin, ethnicities, religions, and sexual orientations. -Third, we will for sure bring back the mini and start work on more MoneySMP - related side projects, such as a MoneySMP x Cobblemon, so those who are not PVP-oriented can still be highlighted by our brand and close community. -Fourth, to those individuals who I do feel like have the potential to join the MoneySMP group right away, I encourage them to do YouTube if they are not already doing so. Unfortunately, the best way to grow a good audience is through good YouTube videos; YouTube grows, while streaming maintains. To make this more feasible, if you can’t edit, that’s fine. We’ve partnered with an editing company, and we will cover the cost for your first MoneySMP-related video to get you established. In the PVP/SMP scene, a massive issue often run into is that it’s hard to find mid to higher tier non-female creators due to the culture of gaming, and the already small population of non-male creators. It’s not impossible,, but we cannot ignore the way that non-men are treated in the scene, often ridiculed and bullied out of it. So, something MoneySMP is going to experiment with is allowing more people onto the MoneySMP practice server to help them train PvP in a comfortable, friendly, non-competitive environment where you don’t have to worry about toxicity. Here, you can get one-on-one training from some of the better players and duel those in your skill range. The steps we are taking are to build MoneySMP into the best brand possible, and to be the best, we need the best. This means taking chances on every single person equally, no matter how they do or do not identify. Everything listed is my honest belief on how to make the brand the best it can be. I’ve always believed that only adding big creators takes away more than it adds. We emphasize building small creators who then get tied into MoneySMP and grow with the brand. Examples like @SophiiLIVE @DanRavioli_ @thePrinceUH and @kirbs428 (my mini goats). Obviously, there is more to come than just those 4 individuals. Finally, a great video to watch is Jojo talking about her experience, which is linked in the replies We want MoneySMP to be the home of the best possible content, which means treating our community, audience, and everyone involved with due respect and the transparency they deserve.
