It could benefit from it but this game has a lot going on and shouldn’t be trying to add more things.
GOT/GOY were games you can 100% explore in 60 or so hours. Multiplayer was practically abstracted from the story and exploration.

Enjoying the solo exploration at my own pace.
Multiplayer/coop/PVP is just one step away from weekly challenges and battle pass BS which makes an already bloated game even more bloated.
It’s perfectly balanced. Any more and it’ll start to feel like a chore to play.

And all you have is your sword and your will to survive.
Takes a minute to really get it but once you do, it’s beautiful. Even from software hasn’t touched that level of greatness with sword combat.
