日本の友達と話すのはとても楽しいです！ しかし、私はとても心配しています。 日本人の友達に退屈させたくありません！ アメリカ人は日本人ほど面白くありません。

@ankoromochuu 外人はすでに多かったけど、今よりみんなリラックスして普通に暮らしていた。 コロナ以後は、イライラしている人が増えたし、それに比例して感じの悪い店員も増えた。どうも、世界的な現象らしいです。

日本人を見下す外国人が増えたのは、戦後80年たって「日本人のヤバさ」が風化したってのはあると思う。 優しさを弱さと侮られる場合、ラインを超えたら「あっ刺し違えます」の方が生存戦略としては正しいこともある。 外国人からキ○ガイ民族と思われることでしか摂取できない栄養ってあると思うし。

@MargBarAhmdinjd @inpostarrr それは「謙遜や配慮」であり「お世辞」だよ。日本人が外国人に面と向かって、日本は世界一快適とか、外国は危険で不潔で暴力と怒りが満ちていて住みにくいとか言うわけないでしょう。

One issue I’m curious is how the obesity issue in the US woukd be viewed. There’s that desire to be polite but then there’s the “please don’t let that giant enter the elevator with me.” I like to hold the door for people but even then I have moments thinking to myself, I wish this person would waddle a little faster.

Hey everyone overseas, People often think Japanese people are polite and serious—but there’s another side to us too. Like repeatedly smashing the “close door” button in elevators, or taking a step back after getting change at a convenience store before putting the wallet away, or silently rushing the person in front of us at the ticket gate when they slow things down. We might look calm on the outside, but inside, a lot of us are actually pretty impatient and thinking about a hundred things at once. It’s like quiet on the surface, but a bit chaotic in our heads. Just thought I’d share that side of us too :)
