@SpicyBotrytis "glucosinolates are good for anything" 👍😄 learning a lot from this, thanks! I think I need to read more to answer a basic question for myself, however. Where else could specialized metabolite pathways come from if not from "primary" metabolism?

#ThioGlucoThursday (1/7): An interesting question is where do new specialized metabolite pathways come from? Recent interest has focused on co-option of primary metabolism enzymes. Since glucosinolates are good for anything, i thought it might be interesting to see is there.

Spending Saturdays cruising around NW Ohio, southern Michigan looking for bass-fishing sites. Grassy Lake looks promising. (I have a thing for lily pads.)

Review #212. TheTomorrowWar. TheEdgeofTomorrow x Cowboys vs Aliens x IndependenceDay minus 300 IQ points, the plot, and all the humor. More plot holes than a golf course. ⛳️-1,000,000 out of 5. Oh well. 🤷🏼‍♂️ 🛸

@ChrisCillizza 👽 would be 😎 but doesn’t it seems certain they are jet drones? If we can buy toy drones for $100 on Amazon, coordinate 100s of ‘em for nighttime displays, refuel fighter jets with them, fly, sail, or pilot them anywhere on Earth & on Mars….imagine what is not public knowledge.

@tomarnoldPA I'm trying to help a high school student (!) who wants to study impacts of NTs from plants on Drosophila neurons. Not an easy one.

Is anyone aware of research being done on neurotransmitters as direct defenses in plants against insects?

the very last episode of Line of Duty (starring Adrian Dunbar) and 2. Thought he looked familiar and duh that’s because in 2007 while working in England we saw a funny play in London, Boeing Boeing, starring …you guessed it…Adrian Dunbar. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pandemic Review #211. Blood, British TV. A twist on a low key psychological thriller - the ending isn’t a terrible shock but rather a nice (if sad) surprise. Did not see that coming. Stars Adrian Dunbar which is interesting because 1. We watched this while waiting for

I like our Prius less. In fact I’m about as likely to buy another Toyota as I am to get a MyPillow. I mean how many dozens of other companies make cars & are also better for democracy? Probably lots. And also, there are bikes. #BoycottToyota

Scanning articles from J. Chem. Ecol. from the past 12 months. Interesting that there were 0 articles on marine organisms and only 1 on an aquatic organism (tadpoles). I didn’t expect many but….where do those papers go these days?
