Used EVs are now the most affordable vehicle choice for millions of Americans, and there's 100s of thousands of them coming off leases and hitting used dealer lots and online inventories this year. Here’s a guide from the WSJ on how to buy a good one: wsj.com/business/autos…

China added a Germany-sized electricity grid last year— (This Data Insight was written by @_HannahRitchie and Pablo Rosado.) We’ll often see headlines quoting how many gigawatts of new solar farms or coal plants China is building. But it’s hard to get a meaningful sense of scale for how electricity generation in China is changing. The chart puts it in perspective. In 2025 alone, China’s electricity generation increased by almost 500 terawatt-hours (TWh). This is compared here to the total amount of electricity that whole countries generate each year. Germany generates almost exactly that amount. That means China effectively added a Germany-sized grid to its electricity system in just one year. What’s also quite staggering is that almost all of this new generation came from solar and wind. China generated 340 TWh more electricity from solar than the year before. That’s more than our two home countries, the UK and Spain, generate from all sources each year. Low-carbon sources grew so much that coal power in China actually fell slightly.

The sentence that should not be forgettable: Vought said he prepared Trump's executive actions so the president would not have to think about "whether something is legal or doable or moral." That is not a staffer describing efficient workflow. That is the architect of the second Trump administration describing his function as the removal of legal and ethical friction before the president encountered it. He was not hired to consider whether actions were legal. He was hired to make sure Trump never had to ask. ProPublica got the recordings. That is what the recordings say.

This video on the rise of Russ Vought is based on scores of interviews, thousands of pages of emails and dozens of hours of videos and recordings of private briefings given by Vought, most of which have not been previously reported. propublica.org/article/video-…

The president purchasing Nvidia shares a week before his own Commerce Department allows them to sell one of our most valuable assets to our main geopolitical opponent is unfathomably more corrupt than anything on Hilary Clinton's email server.

“Trump purchased $500,000 to $1 million worth of Nvidia stock on Jan. 6, a week before the Commerce Department officially approved the sale of Nvidia chips to China.” Insider trading, corruption, treason. Where are the calls for impeachment?

Can't stop thinking about Elon Musk, the wealthiest man alive worth $828 billion, spending $290 million to elect Trump, becoming $563 billion richer since Trump was elected and ending humanitarian aid that will lead to the deaths of 4.5 million of the poorest kids on the planet.

This knee-jerk opposition to solar because it's "intermittent" is outdated. Yesterday evening in California, batteries provided 36% of the power for the grid as the sun went down. We still need other sources like geothermal & nuclear too, but solar should be part of the mix.

Virtually every gram of highly enriched uranium Iran now has in its possession--enough to make 10 nuclear weapons--was produced after Trump withdrew from the Iran Nuclear Deal in 2017...without any effort to replace it. Trump tore up the deal, so Iran got back to work.

It sound absurd, but the question of Clinton’s compliance with State Department IT guidelines received more coverage than all public policy issues combined and then the press lost interest in this whole area once Trump started breaking every rule in the book.

We are in deep, deep trouble. A reader wrote in to me this week saying that they wouldn't read my Trump corruption story because ChatGPT "fact-checked the piece" and informed them most of it was false. Among other things, ChatGPT told them that there is no Iran war, Jared Kushner is not a negotiator in the war, Qatar never offered Trump a $400 million plane, George Santos wasn't pardoned, the NYTimes did not report on Syrian billionaires lobbying Trump for sanctions relief, Trump never launched a meme coin, and World Liberty Financial (the Trump family crypto firm) doesn't exist. Of course, all of these things ARE real, do exist, and are happening right now. Apparently, the reader copy and pasted the text of my story into ChatGPT, and without the links ChatGPT couldn't confirm any of it. Once the reader sent ChatGPT the link to the story, it ended up concluding all the facts were correct. How many people simply don't know how to use AI and are offloading all their thinking? It's a terrifying thought. And a totally new frontier of reality to navigate.

The ballroom went from $200 million & privately funded, to $300 million, to $400 million and taxpayers cover some of it, to MAGA trying to silently jam through $1 BILLION, 100% of which is our tax money, for this ballroom. WASTE, FRAUD, AND ABUSE IN THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION.
