We had a great chat with @CockfostersFC chairman @VASCHIOTIS ahead of tomorrow fa vase trophy final! We asked him if he would ever think this would be possible since being a chairman. Vas Chiotis 🗣️ Honestly, yes, I did. We’ve built this team over time. It hasn’t happened overnight, and the unity and bond between the lads is incredible. It’s a very strong squad, and the balance is great, not only from a footballing perspective, but also from an experience versus youth blend. I genuinely believe any strong Step 5 side can win the FA Vase. A lot of clubs who probably could go deep in the competition are rightly focused on promotion, and I completely understand that. Funny enough, in the summer I told a dear friend of mine, Omi, someone heavily involved with me at the club and in my life, who sadly has since passed away, that I had this feeling we were going to win the FA Vase this year. To see the journey unfold the way it has feels incredible. The away trips to Whitstable and Droylsden will stay with us forever. Not just because of the results, but because of the experience on the road, the overnight stay, travelling with the supporters, the level of banter, the memories, and everything that comes with a run like this. It’s been special. So yes, I always believed we could do it one day, but deep down, I really feel our time is now. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. Hopefully tomorrow we can finish the job.
