@thatdenverguyYT Increase of quality + competition from hundreds of other niches, lack of interest in gaming, repetitive content formulas, rise of shorts + home feed redesign, list goes on.

A lot of gaming YouTubers have this same question. Most general gaming channels are down 50% or more from 2021/2022. Was it just covid? Was it Shorts? Has the content style evolved? Did Roblox sponge up most of the viewers? So many questions but always an answer.

Hey folks - so I have a pretty wild update… I’ve been asked to step up to lead Fortnite Battle Royale. It’s been a truly incredible first 5 months at Epic; the creative freedom is liberating and the team is outstanding. I have much still to learn, but I’m excited for this new role and grateful to leadership for their trust, and what we can all create on this journey together. I struggle to think of a bigger honour to have as I enter my 23rd (!!!) year of making video games and how fortunate I’ve been, and the great people I’ve worked with and learned from along the way. I hope 9 year old me who had just played Super Mario World for the first time and then spent the next decade drawing video games in art class would feel pretty chuffed, as much as I may feel like I’m still just getting started. Or as my dad said when I told him the news, “crack on then” 😅
