Pete Alonso's farewell to Mets fans on IG: New York, thank you. These last few years have shaped me in ways I’ll carry for the rest of my life. This city demands your best and I’m proud to look back knowing I gave everything I had into earning the privilege of wearing that jersey. I’ve been blessed with incredible teammates, coaches, trainers, staff, and countless people who helped shape me into the player and man I am today. I’m forever grateful for every person who challenged me, supported me and believed in me along the way. Thank you for the passion. Thank you for the love. Even the tough love that comes with playing for New York. When it came time for first pitch, thank you for being electric through it all. Thank you for getting rowdy every time I stepped up to the plate and made the building shake when the ball found a seat over the wall. Your energy fueled me more than you’ll ever know. You believed in me, and you made me better. With love, Polar Bear (via IG/polarpete20)

It is time for our first giveaway. We're giving away a Librem 14 from Purism. It's a fancy expensive $1,400+- laptop. Requirements: - Follow @ddd1ms on Xitter - Comment below Librem is a pro-privacy laptop that unironically comes with a fuckin' kill switches for mic, bluetooth, camera. It has Intel Management engine disabled. It runs PureOS, with app sandboxing, adblocking, tracking protection, etc. This laptop is basically a privacy nerd laptop. It also comes with a bunch of NSA stickers, HOPE (Hackers on Planet Earth) stickers, FBI Most Wanted stickers, etc. I forgot to ask for the specs on the laptop, but I'll get that stuff later on. Attached image is the laptop he'll mail to your home.

@The7Line I agree with everything EXCEPT if Sterns is so smart why in the world did he think the starting staff in April would do anything. Cohen signed Soto and Alonso forced his way back. Brewers are better without him, maybe he should prove he is smart and stop telling us he is smart.

Some random coffee thoughts: - unbelievable (not really though) that it's coming down to the last two days of the regular season - do they even deserve to get in at this point? Imagine spraying champagne after this - Pete Alonso needs to be a Met for life - We all knew Soto would wake up after his slow start, but going for 40/40 has definitely been a shock - Lindor and Soto both 30/30 has been awesome. The first Mets since Straw/Hojo in 1987 and only the third duo in MLB history. - Give Diaz a blank check - Tong is going to be great, he's just not ready. Hope he keeps his confidence after being thrust into this by default. - McLean, Tong, Sproat were rushed out of necessity to try to save the season. Immense pressure for three rookies with the weight of a fanbase on their shoulders. - Stearns is a very smart man. Occasionally smart men don't always make the best choices. At the time most of us thought the trade deadline was a success. It didn't pan out. - The Marlins always show up against the Mets. They love beating the Mets. The Marlins are also a good ball club. Their record since June 13th is tied with the Brewers for the most victories in the majors during this period. 52-39. - being a Mets fan is tough - Citi Field has been really fun these last couple of seasons. Going to games is fun. The ambiance and atmostphere is fun. They've done a great job with engagement, electricity, and trying to bring fans out. It worked. 3M+ tickets sold this year. - Alex and Steve care about the fans, the players, their families, and the employees. It's more than noticeable. - The surrounding area around Citi Field will be nicer soon enough. Hopefully Metropolitan Park goes through, the neighborhood gets built up, new jobs are created, the parking becomes easier, and there will be more things to do before/after games. - We should support the Cyclones more somehow. - London was fun. Hopefully some more destination games for the Mets soon. Puerto Rico was supposed to happen in 2020 (covid). - T7LA being invited to be in the pre-game hype video this season was incredible - Today is the 13 year anniversary of our first outing. The 7 Line Army was officially born on 9/27/12. The final home game of the regular season at Citi Field. - The 7 Line Army is 103-88 all time. Most of those years watching teams with well below .500 records. Not bad. Our 200th outing will be in 2026. - It's not over, but it feels like it is. A lot needs to go right these next two days. The Mets don't control their own destiny anymore. - If they do get in. See ya at the Playwright on Tuesday night. Our Postseason watch party home in NYC. - Fandom has always been a roller coaster ride, but we refuse to skip the amusement park. Too bad there isn't a Lightning Lane in sports.

@martinonyc We need to move past the 86 era. That was a long time ago and we are starting to sound like that guy you bump into from High School that never moved on. I hope Pete shatters the record and retires a Met.

Genuinely curious: how much do you, as a Met fan, care about the Alonso/Strawberry HR race? Is it important to you? No opinion from me. Just asking.
