If people can't understand what is happening with regard to AI, don't worry, you will be faced with a reckoning one day soon. The issue isn't that AI is inherently bad- It's not. It can be used for good. The problem is sociopathic billionaires with god complexes are in charge of our country. They are shoving AI down our throats so they can become trillionaires at the expense of everyone else. AI will be the downfall of civilization at the rate it's going with these billionaires in charge

The question people need to ask is what is the real reason for the sudden massive need for data centers everywhere.

Update: At least 30 police officers are stationed at Southend Victoria and Prittlewell train stations, monitoring the situation and detaining some people for proactive searches. There’s no doubt that this is a significant policing operation today which is clearly designed to identify people intent on causing issues in the city and prevent them from getting to the seafront. However, some groups have been seen getting off trains at Southend Airport in order to “avoid the police”. Meanwhile across most of the seafront, it’s business as usual with many people enjoying the hot weather and seafront attractions, whilst police patrolling in their numbers. Officers are also keeping a close watch on a large group of youths that have gathered on the seafront.

@millsytrfc Those are valid points but the key thing for me is the humidity. In dry heat it can be 40 degrees and Im coping fine. Here however we swelter in thick, tropical like air.

Uk summers are worse for 2 reason. We don’t have aircon domestically, And we don’t get a break from the sun, it’s light from 4.30 -22.00 this time of year.

Every year there's an unbearable heat wave for about a week, where I seriously consider dropping £600 on an AC unit, which then subsides so I don't bother. And then I repeat the same doom loop the following year.
