@tomorourke You were so young there Tom with your Dad on the Momentary Lapse tour. I recall the excitement of them getting their Ferrari F40s, a fierce road car, we had a welcome party for Nick’s car at Ten Tenths.

A visit to Marenelo in 1987 to try out their new road car, the F40 and take a look at their new competition car, the F1/87. This is Berger’s car, you can just make out the 28 on the wing plate. I’m the short one, Nick Mason & David Gilmour are next to the car. Dad, next to me.

… “this car is so fast it’ll make you shit your pants”. Which pretty much sums up my experience. Albeit metaphorically.

He took me round Fiorano, Ferrari’s test track in the F40 and I rattled around in the bucket seat, unable to see over the dash. The F40 delighted Enzo Ferrari and when he first saw it run at the track he is said to have exclaimed…
