The gold that made these earrings came from MACDESA’s mine outside the village of Cuatro Horas (Chaparra district of Peru). Since achieving Fairtrade certification in May ‘15, it’s helped the mining society support 350 employees & 600 ppl from the community & surrounding areas.

@EthicalHour Our approach is not to sell stuff that people don’t need but to educate people that if you are going to buy a gift, new bowl, blanket etc, make it count by buying from a #socialenterprise or business with #sustainability and #impact at its heart. #ethicalhour

I think long term it’s far better to have the authentic support from someone who also wants to promote you because they love your stuff. Still thinking about who I might approach and whether they should be an ethical living blogger or not

@simple_season @bitesizesocial @EthicalHour Wow, that’s lovely to hear! It seems so crucial that the influencer genuinely loves what you do/make rather than just being paid to promote. As a consumer you can so often tell when an influencer you follow has taken a job for the bills not the thrills! Just an observation!

Then I’d highlight the synergies between us and suggest a collab if they’re interested. I haven’t done it loads but when I have, it’s worked so far! #Ethicalhour

@EthicalHour Mainly using social media to give the facts about why sustainable and ethical metal is important. So many people don’t know about Fairtrade gold or why it’s even necessary. Insta etc is a good platform to promote informatively #ethicalhour
