this is one of the best lessons i learned in my trading journey, taking half on a winner might feel smart in the short term, but over the long run it can be a losing strategy because winners compound, and winners tend to keep winning. selling half at a 2x means reducing exposure to what could eventually become a 100x. say you had 20k in a coin, sold 10k after it doubled, and the remaining thesis kept playing out into a 100x, you potentially left an extra 1M+ on the table to hedge a 10k. instead of taking half, you should be doubling down as your thesis gets validated and your conviction grows stronger
