Marketing experiment idea: Launch a custom GPT on OpenAI. Quick context: Last week, OpenAI launched "GPTs", allowing you to create tailored versions of ChatGPT for specific purposes. Anyone can build their own GPT, no coding required. The GPT Store (a marketplace like an app store), is expected to roll out later this month. This should help GPT creators get more reach. Big new platforms like this only come up every so often, so if your ideal customers spend time on OpenAI, this could be a great opportunity. I'd make a GPT that has a similar value prop to my product so that the people who use my GPT are more likely to be interested in my product. I'm thinking of this experiment like product-led growth but on another platform where you can reach more people—similar to publishing content on LinkedIn because your customers are there. It's also similar to content marketing in that you're giving away something of value for free as a way to attract your ideal customers. Maybe bake in a way to introduce your product to people whose chats indicate that they'd be interested in learning more. Just an experiment idea. Might work, might not. You'll almost definitely learn something to inform your next experiment though.
