Tried out Solidity smart contracts for the first time in anticipation for the Polkadot Hub launch of smart contracts (hopefully in 2 weeks?) the experience was sort of straightforward but I had two issues with the docs where I needed ChatGPT troubleshooting; will be reporting the fixes. I got the basic bootstrapping of a local Substrate node + RPC done, built and tested the smart contract and did some deployment and on-chain testing. Next up would be to figure out how to build a simple frontend. And then I could think about some kind of simple app to build.
