I personally feel like if it was affordable and good quality (software AND hardware) while extending what you do on your phone or computer, it would already be enough. I think there are so many use cases

@torturedMarcel @tgod34748 It's a classic chicken & egg problem Devs don't work on it because there aren't enough users. Users don't want to buy because there isn't enough to do. It's a death spiral And what if there isn't a killer app to be made?

I’m hoping that under Ternus, we will see a cheaper Apple Vision headset. The Vision Pro is honestly a dream product for me. But the barrier for I and most people is the price. Bringing it down to like $1.5K would make it still niche, but more accessible for more enthusiasts.

@xaviercross1971 @tgod34748 I think PSVR is a really bad comparison and that is the most limited hardware of them all. It used to only work with playstation. I think VR can only work when used as a standalone device. And yes, I agree with 1. That's why getting prices down and driving adoption can help.

Nintendo pushing for a Metroid movie when Prime 4 (rumoured to be Nintendo's most expensive game ever) sold abysmally is astonishing. Just proves to me that they actually care and love their franchises and intellectual property.

@xaviercross1971 @tgod34748 As i said, i don’t think it’s that easy. Quests do sell pretty well. And i agree you have to accept hardware limitations. but bad software is not a limitation that’s easily accepted. And the other companies weren’t very successful bc 1. price and 2. missing content

@torturedMarcel @tgod34748 At $500 you have accept some limitations. You can't just blame Meta's rep. MS, Samsung, Google, Sony, and now Apple have all tried their hand at VR. None of them have made $ on it It's a niche tech that some love and most don't want

@tgod34748 @Guille9215 i don’t think they would put the neo name on something that still costs 1.5k. i think air (or simply apple vision) might be the next logical step. but with the introduction to neo and foldable iphone coming up we might be looking at a change to naming conventions anyway

@xaviercross1971 @tgod34748 i thinks it’s more nuanced than that. i loved my quest 2 and love my quest 3 but: the quest software is absolutely terrible, meta has a huge negative reputation when it comes to privacy and the devices suck for productivity. if quest was made by apple, im sure it’d be different
