Perfect shot of the Moon

🚨: After 48 years of travel, NASA 's Voyager 1 is nearing one light-day from Earth, almost 16 billion miles away. A proud milestone for humanity, and a humbling reminder of how small we are in an infinite universe.

Fireworks for the new year? Not quite! 2025 saw the largest geomagnetic storm in more than 20 years on Earth, lighting up the sky with aurora. Data from this historic event will be analyzed for years to come, teaching us about geomagnetic storms. go.nasa.gov/3LcFcpF

And probably my favorite shot of the year, the Blue Origin NG-2 launch (11/13/25), and then 5 days later, the New Glenn first stage returned to port. TL; DR: It's been a cool year.

As 2025 comes to a close, I’m reflecting on how fortunate I am to photograph some truly incredible moments—especially as the Space Coast experienced a historic 109 rocket launches this year. A quick disclaimer: culling is not really a strength I possess, so what follows is a probably over-indulgent number of photos. These are a few of my favorites from the past 12 months, shared with sincere thanks to my family and friends for indulging my photographic obsessions, and with my best wishes to everyone for a safe and happy New Year. Here's my final image of the year- a detailed true color portrait of The Great Orion Nebula. Visible to the naked eye to the entire world during winter months, this is a gorgeous target for astronomers of all skill levels. Happy new year!
