@LukeD's talk at @GameAISchool was definitely something special! I loved it so much! "Player analytics in games", a topic that I knew nothing about explained in such a great way. @zynga Even if the next talk @LukeD does is about types of detergent powder, I'd come and listen!

@arashdeclares @aphrael @totalwar @CAGames @GameAISchool It was awesome to see so many subsystems and the complexity required to make a decent AI in a AAA game, and this is only for the strategy phase. There is surely a whole other system for the battle phase as well

@mtrc Such an awesome question :D, and probably the main topic of my next year of research. So here are my two cents. In my experience, instinct (macro) defines the goal, and search (micro) finds an optimal way to it. Without instinct, search is just a shot in the dark!

Was thinking today about look-ahead in games, the idea of imagining possible ways a game could play out, which humans do a lot when strategising, and which AI also do (we call it 'search' when AI do it). I have a couple of tweets + a question for people who are good at games.
