Hey I am Mayank Rai, 27 male , Founder of TouchPay India. I am writing to seek your help and support to transform the future of payments in India with an innovative solution that replaces traditional mobile-based UPI transactions with a secure, fingerprint-based payment system.
About the Innovation
My solution envisions enabling customers to make UPI payments by simply scanning their fingerprint at merchant outlets—without needing a smartphone, QR code, or internet connection on the customer’s device. Here’s how it works:
The merchant’s app (TouchPay India) is linked to their UPI merchant account and integrated with a certified fingerprint scanner (e.g. Morpho, Mantra).
A customer walks into the shop and provides their fingerprint scan on the merchant device.
The fingerprint is matched against Aadhaar/UIDAI or banking records via backend integrations.
Once authenticated, the customer’s UPI ID is mapped dynamically for that transaction session only.
The customer consents to link their UPI ID for that transaction, and a secure message (SMS or API) is triggered to authorize the payment.
Immediately after payment, the customer’s UPI linkage is disconnected from the merchant device. No biometric data is stored locally; all matching is performed through secure backend channels.
This system empowers India’s diverse population—including people without smartphones—to participate seamlessly in digital payments. It offers unmatched security and convenience, reducing fraud risk and enhancing financial inclusion at grassroots levels.

Current Status & Next Steps
I have successfully developed UI prototypes and proof-of-concept screens for the TouchPay India app.
I have filed a provisional patent for the concept to protect the intellectual property and innovative architecture.
I am eager to integrate with sandbox environments from partners like NPCI, UIDAI, Setu, RazorpayX, PhonePe, Google Pay, and BharatPe.
