A: Avoid clothing with snaps, zippers, hooks, belt buckles, and any other metal objects on your clothing. We recommend that you wear comfortable, athletic-style clothing, but we also offer exam gowns for the appointment.

A CT scan is a special kind of X-ray able to take a cross-section of a part of the body. The benefit of a CT scan is that it can detect changes in the body that a regular X-ray would not be able to detect.
