Big change for me and for Bootlin. Together with @aabelloni, we have acquired Bootlin, and we'll be leading the company moving forward. We will continue to operate @bootlincom with the sames values: technical expertise, open-source contribution and knowledge sharing.
Bootlin@bootlincom

Big news: @bootlincom has been acquired by Bootlin employees @tpetazzoni and @aabelloni. @tpetazzoni becomes CEO and @aabelloni becomes COO. Bootlin founder @mopdenacker stays in the team as an engineer/trainer. More details at bootlin.com/blog/bootlin-a…

Is anyone familiar with buildroot? I'm trying to define a new Rust-based package but I can't figure out how to "download" the sources. This -cargo2.tar.gz suffix is confusing me...

@jmmv @buildrootorg I saw your question on IRC, and was about to reply today, but you had left. Note that you can also ask questions on the mailing list.

@jmmv @buildrootorg This way, we are able to (1) hash the complete source code, dependencies included (2) perform the build fully offline and therefore (3) guarantee we can reproduce the build in the long run.

@tpetazzoni Hopefully not all talking at the same time :-) but yeah. Or multiple mics if the kit allows it! I want to do better than "we put a laptop in the middle of the table and connect to jitsi for others to hear/participate"

Can anyone recommend a good conference microphone? I need to buy one for our upcoming libcamera workshop to be able to livestream about 15 people ... Something like this I guess: but has anyone used something that they think is 'amazing' ?

Really good work from my colleague Alexis Lothoré with this update of our debugging/tracing/profiling training course with a new chapter and lab on eBPF! #training #ebpf #debugging
Bootlin@bootlincom

We just released a significant update to our debugging/tracing/profiling training course: it now has a whole chapter and practical lab on eBPF and how it can be used for debugging/tracing. See our blog post at bootlin.com/blog/debugging… for details!

I've (re)scheduled a "Building and Using Shared Libraries for Linux" course for 21-25 Oct 2024. 5 half-days scheduled to suit folk in both Americas (AM) and Europe (PM). Further information at man7.org/training/shlib/. When we have time, we look at the GOT and PLT--see the pic.

@ThLorb Yes, we switched to Gitlab for issue tracking indeed. Regarding MRs, we're not sure yet. Most of the maintainers don't want to do reviews on the Web it seems.

Great work from my colleague Köry Maincent, and excellent to see funding from the DENT project on this kind of upstream Linux kernel topic, which HW vendors often don't do by themselves!
Bootlin@bootlincom

Thanks to the funding of DENT from @linuxfoundation, @bootlincom has worked on adding Power over Ethernet (PoE) support to the upstream Linux kernel. First two milestones merged, and more to come. See our blog post at bootlin.com/blog/power-ove… for more details!
