@birch_js I think the simulator builds before ARM Macs were x86-64, so the term holds :)

I hadn’t grasped up until now that the terms “iOS simulator” and “Android emulator” were worded carefully. I wonder if that has anything to do with why the Android filesystem is opaque to macOS. One asterisk: iOS has only run natively (same chipset) since ARM Macs, though.
Eric Seidel@_eseidel

@createdbykoko iOS is a simulator (they implement iOS APIs with MacOS backings and run natively on the same ARM chips the phone has). Android, historically at least, has been an emulator, and jus booted the Android OS within QEMU which includes CPU-level translation and is slower/jankier.

making a plotters-rs backend to render to a Skia canvas and then integrating it in Freya was far simpler than I thought it was going to be here is one of the examples from plotters-rs rendering in freya through the canvas api

@pragmatrix It feels pretty magic to me :). But their APIs are so well designed, I won’t complain.

Did you know you can create Rust wgpu surfaces with a 'static lifetime by wrapping the Window in an Arc? I didn't.

The team came together, laser focused, all hands on deck. We unlocked a major corporate milestone for a German company and are fully grown up now: Today we sent our first fax.

@rikarends Do you provide the examples/docs as context on every query or did you do some kind of fine-tuning?

I now have working AI generation with 'context' of your files in makepad studio. Upnext: a play button that replaces/updates a file. It has managed to write our DSL if you give it examples/documentation as context.

Port Slint printdemo to new ESP32-S3-Box-3 dev board successfully! I write a GT911 Touch Driver using Rust.

@rikarends My observation, too. And Espressif & community working together on esp-rs, trying hard to keep it up to date with latest SoCs, maintained esp-idf bindings when you need to bridge gap. They really understand software and modern ecosystems.

For all my whining about the espflash dependency count, the esp32 is THE embedded stack for Rust atm. the no-std works without installing other SDKs and you can just build and run with println and everything. Unlike the rp2040.

@anjin_games @rikarends Rik’s advice is gold. Very cool project IMO. But like software, the launch is also built in small pieces. Keep launching. collect feedback, release a new version. Rinse and repeat. _One_ of those launches will be big.

Its very much a puzzle to me that we can enable a 250 like mega tweet but get very few installs afterwards. Possibly things aren't right with the GitHub setup so if you know all about this an can help please let me know. If I have to do it cool features don't get coded.

I wonder how many web apps have not outright leaked their OpenAI tokens but instead have very thin REST APIs around the OpenAI calls that can be nearly as easily exploited by attackers 🤔
