@LombardGoon They didn’t want nor believe in total equality. To the founding fathers, “all men are created equal” was a challenge to the idea that the monarchy was a sacred institution. The king was pretty popular before the revolution, and the founders wanted to justify their actions.

The Founding Fathers’ liberal ideals were naive and foolish. Maybe they could’ve worked had America remained White, but it was baked into their ideology that eventually all distinction within humanity would be torn away in the delusional pursuit of total equality.
