What this weekend at @TheOpen really highlights isn't Rule 8.1a ... it's the growing divide in golf. The @PGATOUR & media establishment seem preoccupied with deciding who gets invited into their country club. YouTube golf doesn't ask permission, it has simply invited millions to enjoy the game.
One side guards the gate while the other opens the game to everyone.
It has a distinctly bourgeoisie-proletariat feel ... institutions deciding who belongs, while the broader golfing public gravitates toward the people making the game more accessible and entertaining. Most fans don't want a war. They don't want to pick Team PGA, Team LIV, or Team YouTube. They just love the game of golf.
(Side note: we get it PGA ... you're still trying to make up to Rory after doing him wrong in June '23.)
