@MotoNutJob @SimonCarGuy My godmother’s husband had one of these mid-90’s, I very much enjoyed the triple-digit rides home from staying at their house in school holidays

@x_ecutive Coincidentally, the American plate looks like a private hire licence plate, just for added authenticity

LABOUR WANTS TO BAN CHRISTMAS SONGS?!🎄❌
They’re coming for festive sing alongs next.
Under Labour’s “Banter Ban”, singing along to classic Christmas tunes with “offensive” lyrics in pubs or restaurants could soon be OUTLAWED.
No more “Baby It’s Cold Outside”, “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”, or even “Jingle Bells”.
For those wondering how the above songs could possibly be deemed OFFENSIVE, below is what ChatGPT thinks:
“Baby, It’s Cold Outside is seen as offensive by many in the modern #MeToo era because the lyrics (man pressuring woman to stay despite her protests, line “say, what’s in this drink?”) are interpreted as implying non consent. Originally from 1944, it was playful flirtation in context, but now banned by some radio stations.
Do They Know It’s Christmas? (Band Aid) is criticised as racist/patronising for portraying Africa as a barren, hopeless continent (“where nothing ever grows, no rain or rivers flow”) and implying Africans don’t know Christmas.
Jingle Bells has a debated link to blackface minstrel shows (first performed in one in 1857), with some claiming early verses mocked enslaved people (though those verses are lost/unverified).”
The Free Speech Union warned them, they ignored it.
“Prepare to live in a country where every pub is a micromanaged ‘safe space’, overseen by lanyard wearing banter bouncers. Welcome to Starmer’s Britain.”
This isn’t protecting people.
It’s killing fun, tradition and free speech.

@Gypsypup13 It’s not like they have to stand and wait for the dishwasher though… And you can always just wash something up by hand if you need it sooner

@SimonCalder Simon, is there not something we could join for example that none of this would be required?

EU entry-exit system: weird turn of events today.
From 12 October, Eurostar rail passengers from London to Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam must have proof of medical insurance, hotel booking, sufficient funds and a return ticket before being allowed on board.

Why’d you discontinue all your pouches of drinking chocolate @HotelChocolat? More profitable to sell single serve boxes? At least bring back the Sierra Nevada 75% to mitigate this.
