The study is now published open access. Really proud to have contributed to this area of research, and hope the findings facilitate meaningful change during #dclinpsy for trainees, that supports and values experiences of distress and disclosure

Great to finally see this in print! Our paper on trainee distress and (non)disclosure during #dclinpsy training. Available open access: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cp… Findings suggest importance of increased permission giving & emotional support to enhance disclosures if desired

My thesis study, exploring trainee clinical psychologists’ experience of (non)disclosure of psychological distress during training, highlights that worries about judgement, expected stigma and one’s competency being questioned, complicates disclosure decisions during #DClinPsy 1/

Further research that includes the other side of the dyad, is required. Nevertheless, the findings have important implications for #DClinPsy courses and may influence other recipients of disclosure, leading to more positive experiences and support for trainees 11/

Do not inevitably mean future concealment. This study is one of the first to use both quantitative and qualitative methods and triangulate data, however, is cross sectional in nature and does not include recipient perspectives 10/
