Sakura Anime Garden 2026 [21-22 March] 🌸 This was my 3rd year visiting this event. It is the only anime convention to be held outdoors in 🇸🇬. This was held at Gardens by the Bay as one of the top tourist attractions. This event consists of different varieties of Japanese culture. From the viewing of the Sakura flowers at the Flower Dome to arts & creativity, cosplays and J-pop performances. My main focus at anime events is watching idol group performances. This has been my favorite interest for the past 8 years since my first visit to an AFA event. Last year after saying goodbye to my long time favorite idol group, I met 2 active idol groups: SAKURADOLL and Lollipop [ろりぽつぷ!!!!!!!] This year, I met another 2 new idol groups: SEIREI SHIMEI JOSHI [SSJ] and SugarNote. Like the other idol groups mentioned, they showcase their own theme of their musical performances. This is also their first time performing at a major event since their formation. Both groups performed 2 of their debut songs. SAKURADOLL made their 2nd year appearance at this event. It has been a favorable experience for me at this event despite having to watch their performances under the hot weather and extreme conditions. Siniakova and Townsend are on the 15 match win streak this season already. 3 consecutive WTA 1000 titles including the first 2 as part of the Sunshine Double. These 2 are very dominant so far.

Lots of positivity to take for Mirra after reaching both singles and doubles final in Madrid. Not every player does get to play both finals in the same tournament. It did happened before last year but quite rare to see. Jasmine Paolini in Rome and Janice Tjen in Chennai. Hopefully when she does reach both singles and doubles final in the next tournament she plays, she will get her chance to win both events in the same tournament. Mirra and Diana will be back next week in Rome to play both singles and doubles together. Best of luck for both young women as Team MiDi for this clay season. 🧱😊

Tonight starting at 8pm SGT: Part 2 of the Madrid Double for Mirra in this doubles championship match with Diana Shnaider. ⏰ After losing to Kostyuk yesterday, Mirra will get her second chance to win this title as she and her close friend will take on a top ranked doubles team of Siniakova and Townsend. This will be the ultimate test of their tennis chemistry level and strategy after what they have shown in their previous match against Siegemund and their compatriot Zvonareva. Both Mirra and Diana lost their last meeting to the 2nd seed in both singles and doubles although Diana did won her last singles meeting against Siniakova in Adelaide early this year. I wish Mirra all the best and hope she can earn this title with her team after her difficult loss yesterday. 🙏🏻

Tonight not before 11pm SGT: Part 1 of the Madrid Double for Mirra in this singles championship match against Kostyuk. ⏰ This will be her big test of her mentality and consistency after what she have shown in her previous singles matches coming to this final. She is 0-2 against Ukrainian players both in the Australian Open swing in Brisbane and Melbourne this season. She will be looking to get her first win for her 3rd WTA 1000 title by taking on a familiar Ukrainian she lost in their first meeting from the QF match in Brisbane.
