no bcus the way fans talk about this series you'd think it's the most well written romance series out there when the writing is so bland and boring and i tried to give them a shot so many times but just couldn't get past the writing. literally no substance to them
cecy@wynriet
yall are getting paid to like this series bc no fucking way
English

exactly!!!! idk why they exaggerated the explicitness of the intimate scenes, i thought it was gonna be more steamier than bridgerton
alexandra@jackiebukharts
very funny to me that the show was advertised as having major explicit sex scenes & then they were all very chill nothing to be shocked about no major nudity not that we needed more nudity or anything but there were very tame very tasteful imo this just speaks of how audiences
English

ppl misunderstand that scene so bad. maybe it’s just my interpretation, but it’s rly not that serious in the book. garrett does it to get hannah’s attention bcus he knows she’s lying and will force herself to go on dates just to prove a point. its funny wholesome and entertaining

"Off Campus" star Belmont Cameli is glad they changed this aspect from the first book, even though it's "hot."

this hurt me personally

@cadlymack most fans are fine with changes as long as they don't negatively affect the characterization of a character, which is what a lot of adaptations end up doing. yes, adaptations are not meant to be direct copies, but they are also not meant to change the heart and core of characters
English

@cadlymack the changes in the OC adaptation may seem normal to a casual viewer, but a lot of them have affected the development of the main couple and their dynamic. the absence of several elements, in addition to the changes, have made the mmc extremely different - hence the backlash.
