This contribution aims at analyzing TV series The Expanse from a feminist lens to argue how spaces of resistance are needed in order to fight structures of power.

📝Project member Pedro Mora-Ramírez participated yesterday in the 2026 Félix Doctoral Seminar at the Complutense University of Madrid. He talked about his PhD project on Black masculinities and spatiality in post-2010 fiction and audiovisual media.

Part 1 📢We start a series of our recommended reading list! 📖S. Martín Alegre and M. Pitts have edited the book Masculinities in Contemporary Science-Fiction Television, where they highlight the ways in which divergent masculinities shape and are shaped by the Sci-Fi genre.

📍Paula García-Rodríguez, at the panel “Aging female body”, argued that They Shut Me Up and The Substance reclaim and reinterpret the ageing female body, as it interrogates how they are rendered invisible within dominant discourses, marking them as socially obsolete.
