@Huh17840840 @rubylovesalysa @Oh_Poppycock @chazzleazzle Tomi, no one cares about your gross opinion about your own grooming.

@rubylovesalysa @Oh_Poppycock @chazzleazzle So what if they’re dating? With her consent and her parents being okay with it why is it anyone’s problem? Epstein is a pedophile not a guy who has a gf and consented to a relationship both of them are just as guilty along with her parents that’s lack of parenting if you ask me

@juggalochef2399 Thank you, it’s everyone’s drive-in 🥲 We love it when people have a good time with the movies.
English

Sorry, I’m crying, I work at the Mahoning, a big reason why I’ve missed so many episodes of The Last Drive-In when they are live 😭😭
Glad I tuned in tonight #thelastdrivein
English

When I first began watching #thelastsdrivein alone at home during the pandemic, I never imagined I’d be working as a film projectionist at my favorite drive-in 4 years later.
Running film under the stars, there’s nothing else like it. 🎞️ ✨ I owe so much to drive-in culture. ❤️

Shall I return to Twitter for one last night at #thelastdrivein?

@geoffwilt @ryanhasbadtaste I don’t know it but I don’t have much podcast familiarity. I looked it up though and bookmarked the episode so thank you!
Our theater also had a podcast, Mahoning Drive-In Radio. A couple episodes focus on projection (the most recent episode is me talking about my first year).
English

@trashcelluloid @ryanhasbadtaste just checked out your website. I think I’ve heard of you guys before - possibly on an episode of Important Cinema Club, you know that podcast? I think they made a pilgrimage there.
English

@geoffwilt @ryanhasbadtaste If you ever make a road trip out to the Mahoning Drive-In in PA, stop by the projection booth, we are pretty open-door until it nears showtime and are happy to answer questions.
English

@trashcelluloid @ryanhasbadtaste thanks so much for taking time for the thoughtful replies. I live in the same neighborhood as the AFI Silver and there are a handful of indie theaters around too, I’m not under any illusions it can pay the bills but I’d love to just learn how to do it,get involved with screenings
English

@ryanhasbadtaste @geoffwilt The truth is, believe it or not, there are not enough film projectionists, especially outside of major cities. So follow your heart and passion and hopefully you’ll make a connection somewhere that mutually works out.
English

@ryanhasbadtaste @geoffwilt All in all I’ve projected/co-projected 118 films in my short rookie tenure and still have a LOT to learn. And it’s frustrating that there are very limited opportunities (if any) for learning programs. So I network and learn everything I can from other projectionists.
English

@tnyfrontrow You basically hit every point of contention I also had with this movie.
English

The Brutalist has interesting ideas that remain undeveloped; fascinating characters, mostly undefined; it's a film about a distinctive aesthetic but itself has one of little distinction. Its big subjects place great demands that it doesn't meet:

@BrianDuffield @WillTheLandMan Would riot if a theater showed me a trailer for the movie I’m about to see before the movie.
English

@WillTheLandMan I don’t know why the thirty minutes before trailers start aren’t full of instagrammable content promoting the movie they’re about to see. So easy to fix!
English

Alright, I think I’ve cracked the code on this posting the movie theater screen thing. I’ve got a solution I’ll pitch below. I think it’s the closest thing to a compromise while still keeping theaters a safe space from cell phones.
In Asian cinema markets, they have exclusive movie theater tickets. A flashy, almost movie premiere level ticket.
What if we did that in the US? But we add a QR code to the back of it that links at random to some stills from the film you are about to see. That way you get your own special randomized social media post without actually taking a photo of the screen & disturbing others around you.
The QR code could even link to photo filters or exclusive content, idk.
Just feels like we gotta solve this shit.

@MatthewBBryant @janusfilms I complain. Every time. I consider it duty.

MARTIN SCORSESE raves I SAW THE TV GLOW: "There's one film I liked a great deal [..] I Saw the TV Glow. It really was emotionally & psychologically powerful. Very moving. It builds on you, in a way. I didn’t know who made it. It’s this Jane Schoenbrun." tinyurl.com/3hby8v53
