The staff had an excellent CPD session tonight led by Adrian Bowden from @trav_science. We looked lots of ways to further imbed sticky science knowledge in lots of fun and practical ways. It was lovely to work with the @StStephens_Bury staff too!

Why do trees drop their leaves before winter? One current idea is that it will prevent them being blown down by strong winter winds. Lots of leaves give a large surface area, whereas bare branches allow the wind to pass through

Growing bulbs: chop off the tops of spring onions and place in water. They will regrow the shoot really quickly (in warm weather a few millimetre growth in hours, and centimetres over the next few days)
