3:42:66 on the mile for Josh Kerr to break a 27 year record for the fastest mile. Pretty cool. Absolutely insane pace that most people couldn’t hit for 100 yards, much less a mile.

I have two cousins who’ll be doing that one day. From a family of overachievers, they ages 14 and 17. The older boy is starting his freshman year at the USNA (and yes, he’ll be on the track team). The 14 year old won some championship recently as a freshman in high school. His mile time is not far from 4:30. 14 years old. I was a middle distance runner myself, back in medieval times. This is a different game.

@The_Ryan_Shull Is there any study done one how much and which numbers edge down from aaa to mlb? Like id think his batting average would go from that 250 to 210 or worse against major league pitching and the other things would fall at a similar rate.

How much longer can Bloom keep him down? I know there are still some things he’s working to improve (Z-con% & K%) but these numbers just jump off the page.

MLB has this. From 2014-23 only team with two WS wins was Houston, after a conventional rebuild. Dodgers had to win Game 7 in 11 inn to repeat last year. If Blue Jays win, who complains about parity? Owners have cause to propose change, but this supposed motivation is weak.
