Tesla just gave HW3 owners an official roadmap
Elon Informed on the recent Q1 call: HW3 simply lacks the memory bandwidth (1/8th of HW4) for unsupervised FSD. It’s an AI compute choke point
So Tesla is rolling out FSD V14 Lite in the US first and will expand internationally as technical verification, regional adaptation & regulatory approvals allow
"This update ensures that HW3 vehicle owners will continue to benefit from ongoing software updates"
To bridge the gap, Tesla is also offering
→ Discounted trade-ins for HW4
→ Future retrofits (replacing cameras & computers) via new micro-factories
You can either use supervised FSD with V14 Lite, or upgrade to HW4 for the Robotaxi future...
