@francescovll Since dart has shorthand for enum or static fields what about ‘columns: [.title]’?

How would you prefer to select columns in a query? At the moment, my ideas are symbols or Boolean values. Honestly, symbols usage is clean, but using boolean values makes usage less prone to errors.

@trejdych @ASalvadorini Good to know but not sure if I want that for the whole class. Sometimes I'm explicitly setting values to null and they would be removed in that case.

Learned something new today ✌️! If you want to exclude a whole field for serialization using dart_mappable, you have to create a Hook "RemoveFieldHook" and attach it to the class.

@verry_codes @ASalvadorini For this use case you can use “ignoreNull”. Either as build.yaml option or as MappableClass property

#Flutter newbie mistake I see a lot: Just because an argument is nullable doesn't mean it should be optional. If there's rarely or never a reason to omit it, then make it required. This will improve IDE autocomplete and eliminate the chance that you'll forget to provide it.

I really want to get rid of the distinction between Provider and FutureProvider. I know folks want it to stay. But it's unfortunate having to keep two interfaces for the same thing. Especially when the main use-case is just a Repository class.

Code by Process is the practice of creating processes to ensure engineers write good code: architecture guidelines. Code review. Training. Code by Process is (mostly) a bad use of resources and fundamentally the wrong approach. Code can and should self-enforce best practices.

If you're using fvm, you can just update the Oh my Zsh Flutter plugin locally to always use "fvm" prefix. nano ~/.oh-my-zsh/plugins/flutter/flutter.plugin.zsh

@trejdych "in big codebases" is the important part here. If you have like 100/200/300k LOC, you might not notice the difference. But this affects DCM as well, yes.

A regular reminder to avoid using barrel files (ideally, parts as well) in big codebases as they are one of the main reasons for high CPU usage and slow analyzer.

you can absolutely use ffmpeg to extract frames from a video, resize and crop them, and then animate with an IndexedStack
