Does anyone have any recs on UK (preferred) family history courses? One thing that's come from my PhD is many who want to know about their family history having been interviewed. I want to learn about family history research tools but I don't want to spend 1-2 years on a masters!

10/ Many of us have our "tricks" and not all tricks are good. The fact tricks can disable you is what I think is missed in criticism. I feel there's a more nuanced convo to be had about superhero media, autistic / ND powers... more to be learned from the questions than answers.

Yes and no. I can’t help but think of the abject poverty some of our elders faced when they came here- in many ways they were *too* responsible for their ages (for the late teens/early 20s). Also can’t overstate how many expectations re adulthood/maturity are tied to parenthood

@TheCinesthetic Yup. This is really how institutions work though and I respect them for that. UK audiences griped about this too in Line of Duty's ending (but they now greenlit another series lol) and yet, this is how institutions operate. Rarely ever justice. Always a little dissatisfied!

The ending of The Wire (2002–2008) ties everything together and still leaves so much unresolved. New faces step into old roles, the cycle keeps moving, and the show refuses to pretend anything really ends. Bold way to close it.

@AJBecklesVO They're able, just they oft don't... "Beauty & the Beast" was nominated 1991, one of three times an animation has been nominated for BP along with "Up" and "Toy Story 3". I think many treat animation like it's a genre and not a medium. So many great could have been 🙃🙃

You find LinkedIn cringeworthy because for some reason you have a problem showcasing your skills and you don't like people who show off (mind you you don't have to follow anyone and you can mute people). It's the best platform to directly engage with your peers.

@HyphenatedJay Ah yes ofc. I often find we're not bad at socialising, we are just less likely to pretend in group dynamics to keep face... it's the types of honesty that makes workplaces are minefield lol 😅

@treventoured Oh just people being ignorant and inner! NTs saying autistic people are objectively bad at socialising, except all their examples of good socialising describe textbook masking. Just the usual stuff (I’m pretty sure the convo kicked off after this from Uta Frith)

Only discussions among ND/AuDHD people matter. What on earth could possibly be gained from neurotypical people chiming in?
