Lady's Smock normally blooms right around the time that the Cuckoos arrive in Britain and Ireland to breed having spent the Winter in Africa earning it the equally beautiful name 'Cuckoo Flower' 🪺🌸
It was once believed in Ireland that if a person was to be have money in their pockets when they heard the Cuckoo call for the first time that Spring then they would be well off for the rest of the year 🪶
Yet in Scotland if you were to hear it without yet having eaten that day then you would be hungry for the rest of the year....so next Spring ensure that your pockets are never empty and that you always eat your breakfast ☕
