After the Silence
There comes a point in life
when the noise inside you grows tired.
Tired of battles no one saw, of carrying ghosts like unpaid debts,
of waking each morning with old wounds dressed in fresh clothes.
You begin to understand that peace is not something you find.
It is something you fight for,
quietly…
without applauses,
Life teaches this brutally.
That not every war is fought with fists.
Some are fought in silence,
in empty rooms, in the long pause after heartbreak, in learning how to sit with yourself without reaching for what once destroyed you.
There are places we run to
thinking they will save us.
A distant town.
A different sky.
A slower way of breathing.
But no matter where you go,
your soul arrives first, setting down its tired suitcase, asking only one thing,
Are we finally ready!to forgive what made us hard?
Because strength is not vengeance.
Strength is choosing tenderness
after life has tried to turn you to stone.
It is helping strangers, while carrying your own invisible fractures.
It is watching the sun spill gold
across an ordinary afternoon
and allowing yourself, for one fragile moment, to believe in beauty again.
We all carry a ledger.
Names.
Regrets.
Things we should have said.
People we could not save.
Versions of ourselves we had to bury to survive.
And yet…
Life keeps calling us forward.
Through narrow streets.
Through unfamiliar days.
Through the quiet kindness of those who ask nothing from us.
Until one day, you realise healing does not arrive loudly.
It enters softly.
In a shared meal.
In laughter returning unexpectedly.
In the sea reminding you that even the most restless things can learn to become calm.
You are not here to settle every score.
You are here to become lighter.
To lay down your weapons.
To loosen your grip on sorrow.
To let your soul sit beside itself
and finally rest.
And when your final evening comes,
when your body grows weary and your memories begin folding inward..
may you leave knowing this,
You survived your darkness without becoming it.
You loved,
even after loss.
You remained gentle in a world that rewarded cruelty.
And that, perhaps, is the greatest act of courage..
to walk through life carrying all you have endured, and still choose
to be peace…..
