Hats off to the people of Bhabanipur. Their mandate has made it clear what fate awaits an anarchic ruler.

He was Ilyas Kashmiri, a Pakistan Army SSG operative turned terrorist. In the early hours of 27 Feb 2000, he led a 25-member team of Pakistani soldiers and terrorists in a cowardly assault on an Indian Army post of 17 Maratha LI in the Nowshera sector. The post was tactically indefensible, surrounded on three sides by Pakistani positions. The CO had flagged this fatal flaw and sought permission to pull the post back but was denied by his superiors. Seven Indian soldiers paid with their lives. After killing them, Kashmiri beheaded Sepoy Bhausaheb Maruti Talekar. The severed head was carried across the LoC, paraded as a trophy before a cheering crowd, and then kicked around like a football. For this act of medieval barbarism, Pakistan’s then president, Pervez Musharraf, publicly honoured Kashmiri and rewarded him with ₹1 lakh Pakistani for bringing back the head of an Indian soldier. Sepoy Talekar was cremated in his village without his head. His sister begged to see her brother’s body last time. The Army obviously refused. This is who we are dealing with: a religiously radicalised army-state that celebrates sadism, institutionalises hatred, and teaches its men that the more brutally they butcher their enemies, the greater their reward, on earth and in heaven. And yet, sitting comfortably on this side of the border, protected from every real consequence of war, are elite idiots who romanticise this force as “professional soldiers just following orders.” “Kaun dushman?” My foot.

BJP won Indore by a record 11.72 lakh votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the highest margin in the country. And what did Indore get in return? Kailash Vijayvargiya — zero accountability, zero urgency, zero concern. Shameful. 💔💔💔

Civilised feeling collective shame for crimes committed by the uncivilised does not reform the uncivilised. Collective shame is a moral language that works only among those who already share moral limits; it has no deterrent value for those who operate outside them. When civilised society responds to barbaric crimes with guilt statements like "ashamed as a human", it reflects hesitation and weakness rather than resolve. Deterrence, historically and empirically, works through consequences that are certain, swift, and severely exceeding the gravity of the barbarism, not through abstract remorse from people the perpetrators neither respect nor identify with. But the paradox is that when firm force becomes necessary to impose order, sections of civilised only invoke human rights to dilute consequences, ending up protecting perpetrators more than victims and mistaking self-flagellation for virtue and restraint for strength.

Sohan, a Class 12 student, was travelling by bus to visit relatives when it was abruptly stopped near Malhargarh (MP). A few men, later identified as cops, boarded the bus and dragged him off in full public view. There was no explanation, no warrant, and no prior FIR. He was picked up merely on suspicion of carrying drugs, despite being arrested completely empty-handed. When the police realised no drugs had been recovered, they chose not to let their “seamless operation” go to waste. They planted 2.7 kg of opium, said to be seized in another case, on Sohan, registered an FIR showing recovery from him, and told the media they had busted a major narcotics syndicate. He was then produced in court and sent to jail. What they failed to anticipate was that the bus had CCTV, which clearly showed Sohan being taken away empty-handed, pointing to planted evidence. When the video went viral, the police initially denied that the men were cops, only worsening their position. The case reached the High Court, which summoned the SP. The SP admitted that Malhargarh police acted illegally and outside the law, apologised, and ordered a departmental inquiry against the officers involved. Sohan was released after two months of illegal detention. Ironically, Malhargarh police station had been awarded as one of the best in the country by the Home Minister. If this is how the “best” station works, one can only imagine the rest. It is frightening how easily the police can ruin a life in this country. Without CCTV, Sohan’s life would have been destroyed forever.

What 19 year old Vedamurti Devavrat Mahesh Rekhe has done will be remembered by the coming generations! Every person passionate about Indian culture is proud of him for completing the Dandakrama Parayanam, consisting of 2000 mantras of the Shukla Yajurveda’s Madhyandini branch, in 50 days without any interruption. This includes several Vedic verses and sacred words recited flawlessly. He embodies the finest of our Guru Parampara. As the MP from Kashi, I am elated that this extraordinary feat took place in this sacred city. My Pranams to his family, the several saints, seers, scholars and organisations from all over India that have supported him.

He is Sam Pepper, a well-known influencer in the UK. He came to India on Diwali and fired a rocket toward a group of kids, hitting a little girl. Because it was livestreamed, he couldn’t delete the footage, and his followers openly criticised him for the reckless act and expressed concern for the child. He later claimed that the girl had only a minor cut, that he paid for the hospital expenses, apologised, and that the matter was settled. He immediately left India after that. However, the truth is coming out now. The girl did not suffer a minor cut but permanent damage to her left eye, full-thickness corneal injury with uveal tissue prolapse. She lost her eye because a gora streamer wanted to have “reckless fun.” The Indians who feel “ashamed as an Indian” the moment some gora experiences the slightest discomfort here should now see how many gora feel “ashamed as a British” for this. Requesting @MEAIndia to take up this issue officially with the UK govt. This incident must have serious legal and financial repercussions for that influencer.

Shri @BhajanlalBjp, Though "suspension" is nothing more than paid holidays, still welcome the suspension of SDM. Hope this SDM is held accountable through a fair inquiry. Meanwhile, the three petrol pump employees who were arrested should have all charges against them dropped immediately. They shouldn’t face even a day of harassment, since the so-called SDM and his "not legally recognised" wife have already been exposed as liars. I'm saying this because once the issue dies down and people forget about it, the SDM will use his influence to trouble those three again through the same FIR.

Despite CCTV clearly showing that the SDM assaulted pump staff for not giving his car priority, and for no other reason, the SDM’s wife has filed sexual harassment complaints against them. "Mere ko aankh maari." "Bola kya maal lag rahi hai." There will be no proof for these fabricated claims, but the law is such that even unverified accusations can ruin the lives of powerless people. Using sexual harassment as a tool for personal vendetta only trivialises a grave issue. Over time, this not only harms the innocent accused but also undermines the fight against actual harassment. Nowadays, people don’t blindly believe a woman claiming sexual harassment, who’s to blame, if not the fake cases?

On 16 August 2004, 7–8 men stormed Rajiv Kirana Store on Gaushala Road in Siwan and looted the cash counter. When Rajiv, who was sitting in the shop, protested, they beat him up. Sensing danger, Rajiv’s brother Girish ran into the bathroom, grabbed a bottle of acid, and threatened the attackers: “Run, or I’ll throw the acid.” Hearing this, they all fled. But within a short time, they returned as a pack. They abducted Rajiv along with his brothers, Girish and Satish. All three were taken to Pratappur. Near a sugarcane field, Girish and Satish were tied to a tree. Rajiv was made to sit aside. A little later, the then Member of Parliament from the RJD, Shahabuddin, arrived. He set up his darbar on the spot and delivered his judgment: “Give both of them an acid bath.” The moment his order was spoken, his henchmen began pouring acid over Girish and Satish. Both screamed in agony. Smoke rose from their burning bodies. The stench spread in the air. As they writhed and shrieked, not a shred of mercy surfaced in anyone. Rajiv froze, as if the blood had drained from his veins. He went silent. They took him hostage and started demanding ransom from his father, Chanda Babu. On the third day, Rajiv somehow escaped and reached home. He told his father, Chanda Babu, about Shahabuddin’s brutality. Hearing everything, Chanda Babu was shattered. Shahabuddin’s men had threatened him too, but he steeled his mind and, without caring for the consequences, went straight to the police station. The station in-charge trembled at the thought of filing a case against Shahabuddin. He tried convincing Chanda Babu how costly it could be to pick a fight with him. Chanda Babu went to the SP. When the SP refused to meet him, he went to the DIG. Only after the DIG intervened was the FIR finally registered at the police station. The case reached court. Chanda Babu named Shahabuddin as the conspirator. At the age of 70, he stood as a witness. He feared that, like in many earlier cases, Shahabuddin might again walk free. At home, he had his wife and a fourth son who was disabled, and he was responsible for his care too. Rajiv, the third son and the sole eyewitness, was scheduled to testify in court on 19 June 2014. But before that could happen, on 16 June, he was riddled with bullets and killed. Shahabuddin was arrested in this case only after the ruling RJD was removed due to President’s Rule. He stayed in Siwan jail only for formality. Shahabuddin ran a virtual empire from jail. His cell was his throne. He conducted meetings, and anyone could walk in to meet him, subject to checks by his bodyguards. Every afternoon at four, he held audience for his subjects, who arrived to meet their Saheb and get their problems resolved, until 2017 when he was transferred out of Bihar to Tihar Jail. This is just one of the many heinous crimes Shahabuddin committed. The list is very long. He died a natural death during COVID without paying for his sins. His son Osama has now received a ticket from the same RJD from Raghunathpur in Siwan.
