Where have I been?
First, I want to thank everyone who has checked in on me over the past few months. Your support means more than I can express.
On December 6th, my daughter was born, and just a few days later, on December 11th, I lost my second job when several locations closed. At the time, I didn’t realize how much stress that would bring. I was already dealing with some health issues from stress, but by mid-January, I started feeling even worse. My health took a serious turn. I had trouble breathing, extreme chest pain, and was always tired. One afternoon, I blacked out and ended up in the ER, where I was diagnosed with cardiac fibrosis.
Before all of this, the gym was one of my biggest stress relievers. But now, I couldn’t work out or do the things I loved, and that made things harder. It led me to a place of depression.
The past couple of months have been tough. I’ve really struggled with myself, my body, and the feeling that I couldn’t control anything. I’ve been unhappy with so many things. Seeing myself lose 30 pounds, especially when I’ve always taken pride in living a healthy lifestyle, really knocked my confidence down. On top of that, being a new dad without much of a support system has been overwhelming. I have my wife, and she’s incredible, but as a man, there’s a certain aspect of fatherhood I feel like I’m learning on my own.
Now it’s March. A couple of weeks ago, I was cleared to start lifting again and working on myself physically. But honestly, I’m still in a tough place mentally. I know I can get back to where I was, but it’s a journey. Thank you for your patience and understanding as I work through it.
