@garcel1984 @Carlow_GAA Bit of a silly comment as we're on about players of an elite code of sport whether it be gaa,soccer,rugby and boxing. And you compare it to 12yr olds playing playing at a club level.

@Darransull86 @Carlow_GAA What people fail to realise is these lads have committed to the highest elite level of soccer at their age. 3 nights training and a match at the weekend is a lot with out any other code of sport. With school activities and homework it's hard to fit anything else in.

@CillDaraTimes @Carlow_GAA @cwkkfc True enough. But you can't get that level of commitment for 2 codes of sport. I tried it when I was younger. It's not possible

@Carlow_GAA @cwkkfc All very quick to knock what the coaches are implementing. 3 nights training a week and a game on weekends. Where's the recovery time if they play another code of sport. They certainly can't give the same level of commitment. And any player at an elite level will tell you this.

@EamonnOHara8 @Carlow_GAA It's not forcing when asking players at an elite level to give commitment to a code of sport be it gaa or soccer for 3 nights training a week and a match on weekends. Would you rather they play more and be burnt out and have no time to recover properly??

@Carlow_GAA Can a player train 3 nights a week and play a game at the weekend? be it in any code of sport and throw in school activities and homework, give 100% commitment to another sport also? And I coach both hurling and soccer. The child will run into the ground. They can't please every1
