Big congrats to #ApexAthlete Ethan Haynes on his commitment to Rivier University! Crazy to think he started working with us just 41 days ago and now he’s got his college home locked in. Proud to be a part of it. Can’t wait to see what’s next, Ethan!

Parent Recruiting Cheat Sheet! 🚨 • PWO — Preferred Walk-On: Invited onto the roster without scholarship funding. Expected to participate in daily team activities just like scholarship athletes. • WO — Walk-On: No spot is guaranteed. Athletes must prove themselves through tryouts or camps to earn a place on the team. • PSA — Prospective Student-Athlete: Any recruit a college program is actively evaluating or in communication with prior to enrollment. • OFFER (Scholarship Offer) — The school is pledging athletic scholarship money contingent on the athlete's acceptance. • NON-COMMITTABLE OFFER — A conditional offer. The program is interested, but the offer hinges on factors such as camp results, senior tape, roster needs, test scores, or other recruiting decisions. No spot or scholarship is locked in yet. • NON-RENEWAL (Scholarship Not Renewed) — Scholarships operate on a year-to-year basis. A non-renewal means the program has chosen not to extend the scholarship into the following year. • REDSHIRT — An athlete sits out a season to retain a year of eligibility for future use. • BLUE-SHIRT — Athlete joins the program outside the traditional recruiting cycle and counts toward the following year's scholarship class. • TRANSFER PORTAL — An official database where athletes can formally declare their intent to transfer to another school. • OV — Official Visit: All travel and expenses are covered by the school. Athletes are allowed a maximum of 5 total official visits (one per school). • UV — Unofficial Visit: Family covers all costs. The athlete has an opportunity to meet with coaches and tour the campus. • COMMIT — The athlete gives a verbal agreement to attend and play for a specific school.
