With this, comes the question.. "But TFG! By this logic, there should be so many ponies with flowing manes!" Let me clarify that the flowing mane i speak of will only occur to ponies who possess a great deal of magic, one greater than your typical unicorn.

1. one inquiry i see often poorly answered is "Why do princesses have flowing manes?" to the furthest of my knowledge, i can say with decent confidence that a ponies' flowing mane comes from the absolute resonance of harmony between a pony and their magic.

-handle the magic as normal. I think this is a really good example of my theory because with Twilight we are able to see her have the same amount of power in two different situations, one where she can handle it(fully grown), and one where she can't.(S4 finale)

It stops because Twilight is not at absolute resonance with this magic. This is further proved later in the same episode where twilight struggles to control her magic. She may have been able to regulate and harmonize with this for a moment, but she is not strong enough to- (1/2)

Also, this is a different kind of magic than any other moving mane we will ever see. So theres not exactly one explanation for what we see with Cozy Glow, because chaos magic is greatly uncharted territory for ponies. You can't apply the same laws to it as you can typical magic.

Chaos cozy glow came from when Cozy Glow stole discord's chaos magic from Grogar's bell and used it to turn herself into an alicorn. The typical flowing mane we see is portrayed differently here, coming in single-strand flowing waves that sort of look like serpents.

Cozy Glow is unable to control discords magic, therefore she is not in tune with it. The most probable explanation is that Cozy Glow used chaos magic to make her mane move in the way that it is. It moves different than most moving manes, and is therefore likely artificial.
