You’re looking at arc progression/scaling, while I’m looking more at peak portrayal/raw dominance in the moment. SSJ2 Gohan vs Cell just felt different to me.

Instead of 150 episodes watching Goku grow up, being now told that he's an alien, you're being told this, after just 2 episodes of being introduced to him, if you start at Z

Overall: Its middle of the road. Terrible connective story saved by world class animation and Toriyama charm.

Everytime i post anything from Trunks vs Cell I see comments like this. This is one of the biggest pieces of misinformation that has been spread throughout the years. People take one quote out of context and completely ignore what Cell said and demonstrated right after the fight.
