According to an affidavit sworn by Beatrice Wangari, she met Dr. Obwaka in 2015, when he was 73 years old and she was 35. On the day in question, Dr. Obwaka visited her at her apartment in kitengela. They spent time together, shared a meal, and later became intimate. After some time, he was found lying on the bed, unresponsive. With the help of her neighbor, they called an ambulance and rushed him to Nairobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. At the time of his death, Dr. Obwaka was 83 years old, while Beatrice was 45. She is currently in custody awaiting postmortem results as investigations continue.
