I’m taking a short break before continuing the piece I was writing today, the one tracing the history of Zionist‑aligned Christian militias in Lebanon and their crimes against Palestinian and Lebanese Muslims and Christians. I paused because of the flood of messages I received from Lebanese Christian zionists after I exposed those militias’ documented crimes. Some of their responses were beyond vile, glorifying rape, celebrating the slaughter of civilians, and even calling for me to be raped. That kind of language brings back memories I don’t take lightly, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. So for now, I’m stepping back for a moment. Instead, I’ll share something I wrote last year, a piece that already outlines part of the history they’re so desperate to deny. I grew up in Lebanon hearing, in graphic detail, what his group did to Palestinian and Lebanese women. Two of my own aunties were seconds away from being raped and slaughtered by them. They survived by sheer miracle l, but the terror they carried never left our family. This isn’t abstract history for me. It’s in my book, with the full weight it deserves.
