Universal Studios Hollywood got 'live entertainment' alright! Just watched a group turn the walkway in front of Transformers into a straight ghetto dance battle. Strollers, kids, families everywhere... and these folks actin' like it's the club at midnight. Dude in the gray sweats was damn near breakdancin' on the asphalt while babies slept next to the chaos. This is why normal families can't have nice things anymore. Act like you got some sense in public. Embarrassing.

One episode in and I'm actually blown away by how good "Spider-Noir" is! Nicolas Cage plays Ben Reilly, "The Spider," retired superhero working as a PI in alternate 1930s NYC. I chose the black and white version to get the "film noir" experience, but it's more like "noir-esque." Because as usual with Amazon Prime, it’s darker than real film noir — like they lit it correctly, then put a stocking over the lens. Other than that, it's got all the standard noir tropes, but WOKE: The sassy (but FAT LATINA) secretary. The BLACK reporter who's besties with Ben. The ASIAN femme fatale — who performs a modernized version of "Dream a Little Dream" that totally breaks the immersion. The witty banter that fits Cage like a glove. Tons of CIGARETTES. But most importantly, it's got what most superhero shows refuse to have: superheroes fighting supervillains! Like I said, it's just one episode, but I'm hoping this becomes Nic Cage's late-life magnum opus. But it's Amazon Prime — so I'm cautiously optimistic.

I love Jason Statham because he never really gets beaten up by women, so I gave his newest movie “Shelter” a look. The plot: A retired MI6 assassin in hiding rescues a young girl, exposing his location and forcing him to fight off enemies from his past. His biggest enemy is the female empowerment script: The girl Statham rescued keeps attacking him with her FEELINGS. There's a FEMALE Prime Minister who ousts the male MI-6 chief… …And replaces him with a BLACK FEMALE. The intelligence analyst tracking Statham is FEMALE. And even the British surveillance system is named “THEA.” Statham kicks some major ass in this one, but it's obvious the main character is RADICAL FEMINISM. If you watch Jason Statham for the uber-masculine energy, watch any of his other movies instead. The gender politics in this are just too distracting.
