this 9-5 PR <<<<🤣 One would think it’s all the 9-5 that pays 500k monthly. By the time you finish your salary on transport/feeding in 2 weeks, and then you’ start collecting salary advance, so now you’re working and owing the company. You’ll sit your ass at home, and thug it out, learning skills to improve your life.

Ciel (aka Great Sage, Wisdom King Raphael) and Rimuru are the apex example of how HCI can look like. Jarvis/Tony do not even come close.

Funny thing about tech is that it rarely rewards you on a fixed timeline. I remember someone I met years ago, brilliant guy, could build almost anything you imagined. For four years straight, nothing really clicked for him financially. Not because he wasn’t good. Not because he wasn’t trying. Just timing, environment, access, and a bit of bad luck stacked together. Then one random project changed everything. Not overnight success, but finally, momentum. The kind that compounds quietly. Today, he’s doing well by every standard people on this app like to measure. The truth is, tech is not a straight line. It is messy. It is uneven. Some people hit $5K in their first year. Some people take seven. Some never care to, because they are building something slower, deeper, or more meaningful to them. Reducing an entire career to a monthly income milestone ignores context. Geography matters. Opportunities matter. Networks matter. Even personal responsibilities matter. Telling people to quit because they haven’t hit a specific number in a specific time frame is not tough love. Not everyone in tech is chasing the same finish line. And more importantly, not everyone starts from the same starting point. Sometimes the person still figuring things out in year five is one pivot away from everything changing. And sometimes, staying is the real win. Selah.

Unpopular opinion: If you’ve been in tech for up to 5 years and you’ve never earned $5K in a month, you have no business in tech. Go and start a farm or something. It’s time to pack it up.

No, don't listen to people like this. It takes time to learn and you are going to fail. You are going to go broke multiple times and that is there is strengthen your mind and to help you grow. Not everyone succeeds on their first try or in the first 5 years. Keep going, don't listen to girls named Tega. You can succeed at anything, and tech is a lot easier to succeed at now more than ever due to AI. if you started 5 years ago, well AI has advanced 100x in that time period and it will advance another 100x in the next 5 years. You all all early, keep learning and keep going even if you fail 100 times. Don't give up.

My personal take on this is After 5 years, are you compounding? More responsibility, sharper skills, clearer leverage? If yes, you’re in the right place even if the money hasn’t hit yet. If you’ve flatlined with no growth and no plan, then maybe rethink the field. Maybe! Or restrategise! Tech pays for value, not tenure. The number is less important than your trajectory.

My female colleague resumed work today looking unusually quiet and moody. When I asked what happened, she stayed silent at first, so I let it go. Later in the day, I noticed she was still down and asked again. This time she opened up. She has been married for three years but never knew what her husband actually does for a living. Every morning he dresses up, leaves the house, and returns in the evening pretending to work on his laptop. Yesterday, she discovered the shocking truth: he has no job. The house they live in was built for his brother who is abroad, not for him. The money he used for their wedding came from excess funds during the construction of that house. All the money he has been spending comes from the $200 his brother sends monthly for their parents’ upkeep. He gives a small portion to his mother and keeps the rest for himself. He also collects an additional monthly salary from his brother, claiming it is for paying the security guard at the compound. Everything about him has been fake; lies and deceit. She is devastated, and their marriage now feels like a ticking time bomb ready to explode. Above all, love God.
