Tunkhannock Softball

Elaina Kulsicavage drove in 6 runs as @tunksoftball eased past Nanticoke Area, 16-0. @HannonMckenzie struck out 11 and went 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Erin Van Ness, Lucy Karp and Emily Patton each drove in 2. Karp also scored 4 times. Tunkhannock faces North Pocono next.

Big win for @tunksoftball, a 2-0 winner over Old Forge. Bob Hegedty gets his 150th win. Erin Van Ness hit a home run, and @HannonMckenzie another solid game, holding Blue Devils to 4 hits. OF is going to be your Class 1A district champ. Big win for Tigers.

Good statement win by McKenzie Hannon tonight in @tunksoftball win over Hazleton. Hannon held a good Cougar lineup to just 2 hits and 12 strikeouts. The junior is off to a strong start this season.

Let's start with the hitters..... Erin Van Ness, @tunksoftball: She was one of the best hitters in a talented Tunkhannock lineup last year. She hit .556 with 30 runs scored and 22 RBI. She'll be needed to step up early this year.

One pitcher to keep an eye on...... McKenzie Hannon, @tunksoftball: She will be the Tigers' primary pitcher, taking over from big sister Kaya, who started the last three years. She throws hard, is smart and is strong mentally. She just needs to get that varsity experience.
