A Hunnic woman discovered in Germany and dating to 481 AD reveals an intriguing result. While closely linked to ancient peoples such as the Avars and Gepids, she also shows notable genetic closeness to modern Anatolian Turks in Bolu, some Turkmen groups in Iran, and Balkan Turks.

An Ottoman Turkish woman living in Muğla in 1551 was found to have genetic affinity with ancient peoples, particularly the Avars and the Late Huns. Among modern populations, her ancestry appears to be closest to the Turkmen people living in present-day Uzbekistan and Iran.

The sample (BSB004) of an Iron Age (500–200 BC) Saka or Sarmatian man (Y-DNA = C-F1906) from Kazakhstan reveals close genetic ties to Avars living a millennium later, as well as to modern Kazakhs and Karakalpaks.

@turkictribe To be honest, only the Oghuz Turks seem related to me. Azerbaijan, Northern Cyprus, and Turkmenistan. Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and other autonomous Turkic countries don't seem related to me. Culturally, a Kazakh is closer to a Russian than to a Turk.
